Money Worries are something that most of us encounter at some point in our lives.

In terms of Debt, money worries can be compounded by the fact that we are spending more and more money on keeping up with our debt payments.

In some cases, we don’t have enough money to keep on top of things and end up robbing Peter to pay Paul. It can be a viscous cycle and be the cause of stress and anxiety, especially if you are wondering how to pay the rent or feed the kids.

Perhaps you are worried about your job in these uncertain economic times. Either way money is one of those things you need to survive.

What can you do to ease money worries?

You should try to set up an emergency savings fund. Even if you can only afford to put a little away each month. It is worth having emergency savings so that you can be better prepared for the unexpected.

I will be starting my own savings account soon for this very purpose. Currently I have no savings and I am most likely only one pay day before disaster. This got me thinking about how I would cope if I lost my job, or was ill for an extended period of time.

The only thing I have saved for this year is Christmas. The rest of my money has been used to clear debt and pay for my monthly expenses. It’s a boring existence, but someone has to do it.

Saving Money

You can save money in a variety of ways. For example, review your monthly expenses to see if you can reduce or even remove any of them. Any money you have saved can then be put into a savings account for a rainy day.

Switching from brand name products to own label products can also save you money when you are shopping. Switching to a cheaper supermarket like Aldi can also help although it is a different experience.

Walking instead of driving can save you both petrol and money as well as keeping you fit. Pay off your most expensive debts first to reduce the amount of interest you pay.

To avoid money worries at Christmas start saving up in January so that you are ready for it. I did this and I know that so long as I stick to my budget, Christmas will not be any different budget wise. It also means that I won’t get into more debt.
