How I dealt with my Debt Problems

First of all I had to accept and admit to myself that I was in debt. This in itself was a difficult task because I did not want to know just how much debt I was in. It took a night of excessive gambling for me to realise that I had to change my ways.

In my case, I wanted to take control of my debt on my own. I made that decision relatively quickly so set about getting together all the information I needed to set up my own debt management plan.

Next I had to contact all of my creditors with an offer of repayment. This in itself was quite a big job owing to the number of debts I had.

However I got through it and I am now managing my debt quite comfortably.

I have written a guide on how to set up your own debt management plan on this blog as well. I am quite kind.

Life and Debt

It can be a struggle being in debt I won’t lie to you. However you can get through it and become better at managing your money. I managed to get out of debt once, but I did not learn anything from the experience.

I am now in debt again hence why I am writing on this blog. This time I will change and make sure I never face the same situation again. I currently owe just over £40,000 and it will take me some time to repay that.

It does seem like a mountain but I know that with each and every payment, that mountain gets a little smaller.

However I don’t let it bother me too much and I try to enjoy life as much as possible, within my means that is. I have a much better appreciation for the value of money and I hope that continues once everything I owe is paid back.
