Need help with Debt after Christmas? That’s no problem you are in the right place to start your journey towards becoming debt free. In the UK there are a number of solutions for your debt and which one is suitable for you depends on your own situation.

This time of year is when a large number of people start to think about their debt, and wonder if they need help with it. If you think you need help with debt then this article discusses a few key things when you are beginning your journey towards becoming debt free.

The first thing to do is to talk to someone about your debt and how you can solve it. Getting the right advice at the right time is important because the longer you leave your debt problem, the worse it will become. At the end of this post is a link to the various debt charities who can help you with your debts.

Don’t worry about asking for help with Debt

A lot of people are nervous about asking for help with their debt and that’s understandable. However and I have said this many time before, please don’t feel nervous or embarrassed about asking for help. Start sorting things out because you will feel much better about it once you have started to talk to someone about your debt problems.

It might seem daunting to talk to someone over the phone about your debts but they are trained to handle the situation without passing judgement. The fact is that lots of us are in debt and you are not alone in your situation. Heck this blog was set up because I am in debt. So what I am trying to say is they are there to help you and work out a solution for your debts, not to pass judgement or think you are silly for getting into debt.

Some tips before you start getting help with debt

Get together all of your statements and letters. You will need these when you start to sort out your debts. It also helps to make a list of all your expenses and debt payments so you can see just how bad things are. That way you are well prepared when you contact an organisation for help as you will have the information to hand.

It can take a little time to get your debt solution in place, depending on which solution you have. However the people you owe money to will typically stop calling once they see things are happening. You can always screen your calls if you need to.
