Debt Advice Blog is celebrating its first birthday. On the 6th September 2012 I registered the domain name DebtAdviceBlog.co.uk. To be honest it doesn’t seem like 5 minutes ago since this all began. I would never have expected to have stuck with the blog for one year but it has happened and is still here.
There has been lots of useful information posted and a lot of people have visited the blog, just over 100,000 of you if you wanted to know which isn’t bad for the first year. It has been enjoyable writing these posts and providing information. It has been nice to speak to some of you by e-mail and help answer your questions. If one person has been helped out there then that’s a good thing as that is one of the fundamental principals of DAB.
Debt Advice Blog Plans for the next year
DAB has just moved to a new Web Hosting Provider on a dedicated server. This basically means that the site should be more reliable and load faster. It does mean some extra costs for me which isn’t ideal when in debt but hopefully the advertising on the site will continue to cover the hosting costs. So I suppose the new server is a birthday present for DAB. That’s why the adverts are there by the way to pay for all the things that keep the blog ticking over. 🙂
The plans now are to continue to let you all know about how things are going with the debt repayment and to continue to write useful information about the various issues surrounding debt and the various solutions available. More information is going to be provided about all the debt collection agencies I deal with and in a nutshell, the plan is to stick with DAB for another year. One thing I really need to get sorted is a regular update of what’s owed. I haven’t maintained that for the last year but will try harder from now on so you can see what’s going on.
What would you like to see for the next year?
What ideas do you have for DAB? Is there anything else you would like to see on here? Happy to receive your suggestions and if possible try to make them happen.
The Debt one year on
The debt has moved in the right direction. I have decided to also add on my partners debt as well (as I manage that too) so the figures will be a bit skewed when compared to when I first started the blog. However after some time you should be able to make sense of them once more.
An updated Debt Balance list will be provided in the next few days so you can see just how bad our debt is. However the positive attitude towards paying it off remains and so things can only get better. Last year we paid back just short of £10,000 off our debts so that’s better than a smack in the face with a wet kipper. In fact that’s not bad at all and is much better than this time last year.
Thanks for reading Debt Advice Blog over the last year and remember that if you are in debt, you are not alone.
