Today I settled my first debt in a long time. It was only a small debt to begin with but hey, it’s still a debt.

The debt I am talking about is my debt to Network Three, for a mobile broadband contract I took out ages ago.

The total balance I had to pay was a whopping £35.63. I know, why bother? I don’t know but it had to be paid eventually I guess.

I had ignored this debt for two years because it was so small. It seemed unlikely that anything would happen with it.

Which Debt Collection Agencies attempted collection?

My old friends Moorcroft got involved. Sending several letters before giving up.

Face2Face Contact

Another agency I have dealt with. They even sent a debt collector round to my house. It’s a shame they didn’t tell me this was going to happen as I would have put the kettle on.

Well I suppose they did warn me in the letter they sent me, but I thought they were joking. Still they could have told me when.

Wescot Credit Services

I received some more fan mail from Wescot. I even phoned to discuss possible settlement but I never did settle the debt.

Lowell Portfolio

After a year of silence, Lowell contacted me about this account. They are already collecting on several of my other accounts so I decided I would settle it. I made one payment last month and a final payment at the beginning of this month.

I can’t help but feel I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn’t for those meddling debt collection agencies!

So there you have it. It might be a small debt but it is settled now. My next small debt is the TXT Loan I owe. It wasn’t a small as this one to begin with, but it is now at a measly £25.25.
