This post explains what happened when I didn’t repay my QuickQuid Payday Loan.
If you have read some of my other posts, you will know that I have not paid back a lot of my payday loans.
Instead I have entered into arrangements to pay with them as I just don’t have the money to repay outright.
I thought I would write this post to outline what happened when I was unable to repay my QuickQuid payday loan.
Ending the Rollover Process
I was rolling over my QuickQuid payday loan for some time and it was costing me a lot of money in interest each month. I did not wish to continue this cycle anymore.
I decided that I would default on my QuickQuid payday loan, along with all my other debts.
It was the only way for me to start sorting things out and take control of my finances once again. I am in a much better position today for doing this, but my Credit Rating is ruined.
I was getting nowhere fast and had fallen into the dreaded payday loan trap.
Missing my QuickQuid Payment
When I missed my QuickQuid payday loan payment, I did receive numerous phone calls and e-mails to advise that my account was overdue. This is to be expected and was similar for all my Payday Loans.
I wrote to QuickQuid to offer a plan whereby I would pay off the account over three months. I don’t recall ever receiving a positive response to my requests.
I was unsuccessful in my attempts to set up an arrangement to pay. I sent another e-mail reiterating my offer but again this was not accepted.
In the end I gave up. I received numerous e-mails and telephone calls asking for repayment. I just ignored them because they would not budge when I did offer to repay the account.
I did change the bank account where my salary was paid into so that my bank account wasn’t emptied. I had read about this happening to others so didn’t want to fall into the same trap.
What else happened?
After six months of my none payment, QuickQuid defaulted and sold the account to a debt collection agency called Mackenzie Hall. Mackenzie Hall then passed it on to a debt collection agency called Face2Face Contact.
I then entered into an arrangement to pay with Face2Face contact and paid the debt for about a year.
After the year had passed, Mackenzie Hall took the debt back and I entered into an arrangement to pay with them. I am still paying them to this day although I hope to settle the account towards the end of next year.
If I maintain my current monthly payment, it will take me six years to repay the QuickQuid account. The reason being that I owe a lot of money to all my debts and have pro rated my payments. This means each debt gets a repayment proportionate to the balance owed.
